Monel 400 plate heat treatment
A Monel 400 plate is generally annealed; or stress relieved to give the plate desired strength and ductility. This ensures that there is minimum distortion during machining of the item. The plates are annealed in temperatures between 1300 degrees F up to 1800 degrees F. The components can be stress relieved without causing recrystallization to occur in the grain structure. Heating the items in temperatures of 1000 to 1050 degrees F will help relieve any stress within these products.
Monel 400 sheet
Monel 400 sheets are single-phase nickel copper alloys. These sheets are designed with a thickness of less than 6mm but higher than 0.5mm. Monel sheets add an aesthetical appeal to the module and are used as means to lower the weight on the components. The versatile grades are not preferred in applications where the requirement for stability and strength are necessary. The robust Monel 400 sheets can be readily welded in place, following standard welding procedures.
