What is Inconel 625 Plate, Sheet and Coil?
Plates, sheets, and coils are three common types of metal grade in the Inconel 625 range. These components have their said features and functions.
- Inconel 625 Plate is designed in thickness of above 6mm extending up to 150mm. The plates are employed to provide stability and strength to different components.
- Inconel 625 sheet is designed in thickness below 6mm and above 0.5mm. Sheets add an aesthetical appeal to the module and don’t more on weight-saving rather than providing stability to the different applications.
- Inconel 625 coil is wound and coiled after the rolling process. The coils are designed in thickness between 1.2mm up to 20mm. They can be efficiently transported from one place to the other.

625 Inconel Hot Rolled Plate vs BS 3072NA21 Cold Rolled Plate?
Inconel 625 plates can be formed in the hot or cold rolling process. Both these processes are diverse and can be distinguished based on certain features.
- Inconel 625 hot rolled plate is formed at high temperatures ranging up to 1700 degrees F in mills. BS 3072NA21 Cold Rolled plate is processed at room temperature soon after the hot rolling process.
- Cold rolled plates have an aesthetical appeal and superior strength when compared to hot rolled plates.
- Cold rolled Inconel 625 plates have a precise surface finish and edges. Hot rolled may showcase rounded or uneven edges.
- Hot rolled plates of the Inconel 625 grade are cheaper than a cold rolled plate.

What is AMS 5869 Foil and Alloy 625 Strip?
Foils and coils are the thinnest metal grade of the Alloy 625. Both these modules can be distinguished based on certain features.
- AMS 5869 foil is the thinnest item in this grade designed with a thickness of less than 0.2mm. The components are hammered or rolled and play a pivotal role in protecting different applications during heat treatment or against corrosive media.
- Alloy 625 strips are designed in thickness between 0.2mm up to 0.5mm. Strips are an important feature in welding different grades in this range.
